Sanya’s Birthday Shoot – Vintage Glam Meets Modern Confidence

Some shoots start with a plan—and then evolve into magic. That’s exactly what happened when Sanya came all the way from Manchester to Portmore, Jamaica to celebrate her birthday with a studio session. After following me on social media for over a year, she finally decided to step in front of my lens, and let me tell you—it was worth the wait.

The Concept
Sanya walked into the studio with a clear vision: something bold, sexy, and timeless. She brought the heat with a tight lace mini skirt, sheer stockings, red heels, and matching gloves—a look that demanded attention. But what really took it over the top was her vintage blonde hairstyle, straight out of the 60s. It gave the entire shoot a retro glamour vibe that blended perfectly with her birthday energy.

The Experience
Sanya’s session was one of those rare blends of sexy, classy, and deeply personal. We created multiple looks throughout the session and even improvised a vanity mirror scene that turned out to be a standout moment. It wasn’t on our original shot list, but once we saw the setup come to life—it was a no-brainer.
What I appreciated most was her trust in the process. From start to finish, she was in her zone—oozing confidence, playfulness, and poise.

The Results
Every image told a story—of confidence, womanhood, and stepping into a new year with grace and power. Sanya’s energy radiated through the camera, making the shoot feel like more than just a birthday celebration—it was a full-blown vibe.
Her trust in my creative direction and willingness to explore ideas on the spot made this shoot unforgettable. And honestly? Shoots like these are what make me love this job.

The Gear
For Sanya’s session, I used:
- Camera: Sony A7III
- Lenses: 85mm f/1.8 + 28mm f/2
- Lighting: Soft, cinematic lighting for drama and intimacy
The 85mm lens gave us those beautiful, creamy close-ups, while the 28mm added variety and helped tell a bigger story—especially during the unplanned vanity mirror scene. The lighting was all about shadows and highlights, sculpting her figure and giving the photos that intimate, editorial feel.
